All great deserts start with, "It was a cold winter's day". It really was a cold winter's day and I had some apples and puff pastry so I threw them together into this super easy and super yummy apple tart. Perfect when you need a quick fix or have unexpected guests!
2 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced in 1/8" slices
1 sheet of puff pastry
1/2 cup + 2 Tbs sugar
8oz whipped cream cheese

1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 Tbs slivered almonds

In a bowl toss the sliced apples with the lemon juice, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1/2 tsp Chai Confection blend.
Using a stand or hand mixer whip the cream cheese, egg, vanilla extract, remaining sugar, and remaining Chai Confection blend.
Cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Unroll the puff pastry sheet onto the cookie sheet. Using the prongs of a fork poke holes all over the puff pastry leaving a 1 inch border all the way around. Cover the pastry the pastry with the cream cheese mixture leaving a 1 inch border all the way around. Cover the cream cheese mixture with the sliced apples. Sprinkle the slivered almonds on top of the apple.
